I didn't come up with this comic, to be honest. This conversation came up almost word to word when I had a lunch with a girl that same day. I think she's putting a curse on me right now.

Jeez I take a long time to update things.

I mean really, it's been like what, a month? I can't quite remember why I was so slow on updates. Was it because of those exams? The projects? Just general lethargy? Probably the lethargy.

Anyway...

Yay I made it 100 strips. I honestly didn't think I would be able to last this long...

But yes, I got to number 100. Who knew.

I wanted it to be the convergence of summer job and elysium to commemorate the work at Daily Texan. (for my own personal selfish greedy reason). Actually the past comics have all been accumulation of the comics I used to draw. Rolf the Viking, the homicidal maniac, trix rabbit, and horton the elephant...
And also grave robbing is a fun topic. Can't believe people don't censor it. Oh well.

Yup. I'll try to update more often from now on.

The Elysium... in color!
The Daily Texan, for inexplicable reason, decided to run a comic page in color on Monday. Odd.
So to celebrate the occasion, it's the finale! I wish I had more time, so I could alter the colors a little bit.. sigh.

Anyway I'm ending the series by killing off the president! Yay!
I mean, he almost died three times before anyways, so might as well.

I think, I can never write a romance

Once every semesters, the cartoonists at Daily Texan decide to switch off for a day. Switcheroo.
I draw Mr.A's comic, and Mr. A draws my comic. Well this semester I switched with Michael Bowman of Raj and Boris, a comic about a bear and a helicopter. Really, I can't get any more clearer than that.

I found these old comics in the DT folder! Such memories! I was so young and stupid back then. Now I'm just old and stupid.

...Yup, they were comics I submitted for tryout last year. There were two more comics I submitted but I don't know what happened to them. Oh well.

Well here they are. Little nerdy jokes, but I still think they weren't bad.

So the nice folks at the 6 dollars please (http://6dollarsplease.blogspot.com/) is going to Staples! in Austin http://www.staple-austin.org/... Which apparently is like a comic con or comiket or whatever the heck it's called. But it's in Austin. That's all that matters.

We knew this for a long time, but then I started to get these weird emails from the comics editor talking about how there's a need for people to spot the table, how we need to prepare blah blah. "What? I know 6 dollars guys are fellow colleagues, but why do we have to do so much?"

Reading the email more carefully, it turns out the DAILY TEXAN COMIC is going there as well, at a last minute notice. Yeah, three day before the thing, we figure this out. So now we have to haul ass and get the pamphlet together.

So what's DT comics going to offer, you say? Well the best of our works, the Whodunnit, as well as banned ones never before seen by the public eye, so come to Staples and check them out.

When I was drawing this, there was a suggestion to draw the panels separately, and then use photoshop to put them together. What a marvelous idea, I thought, and tried it out. Unfortunately the sizing and strip dimension screwed up, so it ended up looking bad (not that it didn't look bad before but...)

I was gonna originally post something else this day, but I changed to this instead and moved the original to 19th, since the joke of that strip was coincidentally similar to the 6dollarplease for 16th.

You know, give it time so the joke won't be too fresh in reader's mind.

The finale for the summer job chronicle.

The ideas for a finale were either this or him working on a meth lab at his home and accidentally setting his home on fire, thus successfully getting rid of his need to pay rent anymore. And get arrested. Either way he was gonna get arrested. I mean, he was a jerk after all.

Oh it was such fun doing TSJC series. Some people liked it, apparently. Maybe I should continue them.

This was also a filler I used during the summer. I don't get it either.

I once saw a man reading the Economist at Borders. My what an intellectual, pompous looking fellow, I thought, as I peered to the side to catch a glimpse of him. And then I realized... he was firmly holding a playboy magazine within his elbow. Well, that's where I got this from.

I was obsessed with Professor Layton at the time. So sue me.

I personally like the policeman's expression at the end.

Originally, it was a skeleton of big bird with a stake on the chest. However, without all that feather, it was kinda hard to tell what the heck I was scribbling. On the side note, the "help me" on the last panel was supposed to look like the insect scratched it on to the lid.

I think there's one or two more of these comics left.

TSJC comic was drawn so it can have familiar conflict with the college student, thus sympathy.. You know the whole pathos things.

So you start with these themes : no money, trouble with the landowner, job search.
That's a common experience for college people right? I just need to keep drawing stuff that'll make people say "Ah, I understand how this guy feels. I had the same sort of trouble before. Why this is a good comic".

...ok, drugs. Maybe I took a wrong turn, but it's ok. This is still relevant to some people...

Everyone else in the Daily Texan seemed to be doing something relevant to college life while I was away in La-la land with Elysium doing incomprehensible slapstick and talking about some topical news no one really cared about during the spring semester. SO I took the opportunity to do something that felt relevant, and the readers can sympathize with. Job Searching.

As usual with most of my actions, it started to go on a weird direction, and spiraled downward. Well apparently some people seemed to like it so that's good.
